Secret Garden Party
The Secret Garden Party is hosted in Abbots Ripton, in Cambridgeshire. As an annual event it brings in more than 34,000 people.
The festival is an independent arts and music festival lasting four days. The festival is set in a 220 acre landscaped garden that borders a river and a lake. The festival has the feel of an oversized crazy garden party, however it still welcomes everybody. As well as music there is activities and games for children at the festival, giving it more of a party feel.
The stages are separated into two sections. One half is a heavier dance music vibe; the other is an acoustic, more chilled set; giving people the choice and keeping everybody happy. Each year there is a set theme that is put in place. To keep this up it is reliant on audience participation.
Now in its 11th year, the Secret Garden Party is famously a 'party like no other'. Situated in Huntingdon, Cambridgeshire; the festival is known for its participative environment as much as its staggering programme of entertainment.
Gardeners are encouraged to become as much a part of the show as they are observers of it. The festival site is designed to transform the landscape into a garden of magical delights, with installation art and spontaneous performances woven into its very fabric.
The Secret Garden Party is produced by award winning event curators from Secret Productions. It is gathering that exists for only four days - away from cities and schedules, brands and boundaries – founded on participation and with the potential to change your life. In their words: "It is a festival of the arts... where everyone is the artist."
